A common challenge is to find new ways to adapt old buildings or schools to make them more flexible for future needs and approaches to learning and use of space.
A successful example of this is the Astrid Lindgren Schule in Bremerhaven, Germany. This school was themed around the characters from the famous Swedish stories by Astrid Lindgren. Arriving at the school this is obvious in the playground and also entering the building it is evident throughout the corridors.
